Fall River Police arrest driver in deadly hit-and-run

FALL RIVER, Mass. — Police have arrested the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run in Fall River.

Fall River Police say Irvin Dominguez-Cruz, crashed into a motorcycle near Highland Avenue and Courtney Street, and drove off.

According to police, Dominguez-Cruz was driving a box truck Thursday morning and went to turn onto Courtney Street. The motorcyclist was driving south on Highland Avenue toward the Courtney Street intersection and tried to stop, but crashed into the side of the truck.

The motorcyclist, identified as Christopher Mills of Taunton, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he died.

Police say Dominguez-Crus took off in the truck and was later found in Stoughton. He was arrested at his Fall River home on several charges including motor vehicle homicide and unlicensed operation.

Dominguez-Cruz is due in court Friday morning.
