Driver overdoses behind the wheel, smashes into church

A driver smashed into the side of an Everett church on Saturday night after overdosing behind the wheel.

Everett Firefighters said the crash happened at around 10:30 p.m. on 198 Elm Street.

The driver and the passenger were both found unresponsive at the scene of the crash.

Officials said they both overdosed, and became responsive after officers administered Narcan.

One was transported to an area hospital. The other's condition is unknown at this time.

The fire department says the damage to the building was only cosmetic and there was no damage to the building's structure.

No arrests or charges have been filed against the driver or the passenger.

This incident remains under investigation by police.
