BOSTON - One person is dead and another injured after a shooting in Dorchester, Boston police said.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on Vesta Road.

Johnny Calderon was walking by when the bullets started flying.

“I saw one guy bleeding from his chest. He sat on the wall. He seemed like he was dazed and about to pass out,” he said.

Police said the victim who died was found on the first floor of a home on Vesta Road, the other victim was found at the corner of Blue Hill Ave. with a gunshot wound to the chest and shoulder area - police say he is in critical condition.

A trauma team is at the scene speaking with neighbors and other witnesses to help them cope with what happened.

Police have said the victims are in their mid to late 20s, and they're working to determine if the man who died lived at the home where he was found.
