Daily fantasy sports companies address gambling regulators

BOSTON (AP) — Daily fantasy sports companies will address Massachusetts gambling regulators as state leaders weigh new restrictions on the fast-growing industry.

Representatives from Boston's DraftKings, New York's FanDuel and other industry experts are taking part in a day-long forum Thursday hosted by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission at the Hynes Convention Center.

Former state Attorney General and Democratic candidate for governor Martha Coakley is among those expected to speak. She's serving as legal counsel to DraftKings.

The forum comes as Coakley's successor has proposed what she says is a first-in-the-nation plan to regulate the websites, which allow players to compete for cash prizes based on how athletes perform in real life games.

State Attorney General Maura Healey's plan would impose age and advertising restrictions, disclosure requirements and other new rules.
