Police searching for suspects in connection to fatal triple shooting

LYNN. Mass. — Family and friends in Lynn are trying to cope after a triple shooting killed one person and injured two others early Saturday morning.

Lynn Police identified the fatal victim as 25-year-old as Romel Danis. The other two victims were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Police said they were called to the area for complaints of loud music at a party nearby when they heard shots fired and found three men shot along Lawton Avenue at around 2 a.m.

Jim Bell, a neighbor, said he was walking his dog when he learned about the incident.

“It’s horrible, it’s stupid. It’s totally ridiculous,” said Bell. “Kids now – from the time I was in school to now, it’s just changed so much.”

Danis' family and friends gathered Saturday night for a candlelight vigil to honor his life at the spot where he was killed.

Neighbors of the family are shaken by the violence.

“This is my community, it’s not fair that now I have to live in fear,” said Maribel Thomas, a neighbor of the victim’s family. “I have to overprotect my family.”

No arrests have been made yet.
