Chelsea man arrested after drugs found during fire investigation

CHELSEA, Mass. — A fire in a Chelsea building led to police seizing a large amount of heroin.

The Chelsea Fire Department responded to a working fire on Reynolds Avenue, a home for several families.

Firefighters arrived to heavy fire conditions in the back of the building, and were able to knock down the flames quickly.

During the investigation, fire and arson investigators looked inside the apartment building and found narcotics and other drug related evidence.

Chelsea Police detectives then responded with a search warrant, and seized a large amount of heroin from the unit.
