Charlestown robbery suspect could be connected to 18 Boston-area robberies

BOSTON - The man who held up a dog groomer on Bunker Hill Street in Charlestown last Friday could also be a suspect in 18 other Boston area robberies.

Surveillance video shows him walking up Bunker Hill Street and going into a door. After that, workers say he ran up the stairs inside it and robbed the woman working at gunpoint.

A surveillance photo from inside the shop shows the suspect with a gun in his hand.

"She called me absolutely hysterical and said she was robbed at gun point so we ran right over here,” Brittany Turgeon, one of the store’s owners, explained.

She said no dogs were there at the time and they were just getting ready to close for the day.

“He literally walked in and said give me all the money. She gave him the money. He said give me all the money in the safe. She said we don't have a safe, we're a dog grooming shop,” Turgeon said.

After that she says he took off running down Bunker Hill Street before police showed up. A police source told Boston 25 the suspect may be connected to 18 other robberies in eastern Massachusetts.

Turgeon says they've already bought several more high-quality cameras, but won't feel secure until police find this guy.

“Nobody deserves to have that kind of terror happen to them,” she said. “I was horrified.”

The owners told Boston 25 News the employee has been back to work since the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Boston police.
