Bulls' Rondo out 'indefinitely' with thumb injury

BOSTON — Bulls guard Rajon Rondo will likely miss the rest of the series against the Celtics due to a thumb injury, the team reported Friday.

Rondo injured is right hand and does not need surgery, but will be out 'indefinitely.'

The team tweeted the news Friday morning. The Celtics trail the Bulls 0-2 in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

"Rajon Rondo injured his right hand in Game 2 at Boston on Tuesday night. Rondo underwent a subsequent exam and x-rays that confirmed a thumb fracture. Surgery is not required for this injury, and he is out indefinitely," the team said on its website.
