BOSTON -- A 29-year-old man was shot inside a Mattapan home Thursday afternoon.
Boston police were called to 594 Walk Hill St. just after 1:15 p.m. Police say the 29-year-old was shot in the shoulder and arm. He was conscious and alert when police arrived, but is currently in surgery at Boston Hospital.

Commissioner William Evans says the victim opened the door and the shooter came inside. He believes this was a targeted attack.

There is no word on a suspect.
