MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – A brand new barbershop is under construction again after an SUV crashed right through the front window.
Benny’s Barbershop in Marlborough had just opened three months ago, but customers looking to start the year with a new haircut will have to wait just a little longer.
Witnesses at the barbershop crash say the driver of the SUV is an elderly man who they believe meant to hit the break but hit the gas. They say he was checked out in an ambulance on scene but refused to go to the hospital. @boston25

“I didn't see anything. I was in the back then I heard a loud boom. I run out and saw car all the way through the wall,” owner Benny Le said. “Basically, it’s debris from rocks and stuff but other than that all this can be replaced in about a week.”
Here’s what the SUV looked like while still inside the barber shop this afternoon. The people at the pizza shop next door tell me it sounded like “a bomb went off” so they all ran for cover. @boston25 pic.twitter.com/31Sx4ZWsex

Le said he had two customers in the shop just five minutes before the driver crashed into the building.
“I said ‘where's the car?’ Then I looked inside and said, ‘oh my God, there's the car,’” Jim Kambosos, owner of a neighboring pizza shop, said.
Le said he’s thankful none of his customers were hurt and he’s vowing to rebuild.
The driver has not been identified. Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
