Election Day 2016: Massachusetts ballot questions explained

BOSTON — Before you head to the polls Tuesday morning, make sure you're up to speed on the big ballot questions.

-----------------------

There are four statewide ballot issues on the ballot this November in Massachusetts.

1. Question 1 "An Act Relative to Expanded Gaming"

Question 1 would allow the Gaming Commission to issue an additional slots license.

2. Question 2 "An Act to Allow Fair Access to Public Charter Schools"

Both sides are very passionate on their position for Question 2, which would allow for approval up to 12 new  public charter schools.

3. Question 3 "An Act to Prevent Cruelty to Farm Animals"

Question 3 would ban the sale of eggs and other food products in Massachusetts that come from farms where animals are confined to "overly restrictive cages."

4. Question 4 "The Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act"

If Question 4 passes, the sale of recreational marijuana would become legal in the Commonwealth for those 21 and older.

Polls open statewide at 7 a.m. Tuesday and close at 8 p.m.
