Academy in New England offers courses on Royal family etiquette

Brookline, Mass. — With the royal wedding right around the corner, there's been a lot of talk about the kinds of training Meghan Markle underwent to become a "proper" member of the Royal family.

Boston 25 News Anchor Elizabeth Hopkins went to The Etiquette Academy of New England in Brookline to get a glimpse of Markle's crash course.

The academic institution is dedicated to enhancing social skills, improving communication techniques and developing the necessary leadership qualities to succeed personally and professionally.

Snezana Pejic, program director of The Etiquette Academy, worked for the late King Hussein of Jordan, and said that gig prepared her for offering these types of classes.

Pejic recently introduced a new class aimed at millennials, titled "The Making of a Lady." From using the correct fork at dinner to wearing mandatory stockings, the tiniest details are managed in Pejic's class.

Pejic said millennials want to know what's considered proper etiquette - and with members of the Royal family, fine dining is only the beginning.

Markle has said in recent interviews with the press that entering Prince Harry's world has meant a huge learning curve.

Pejic says that besides being primmed and prepped to behave appropriately alongside heads of state, at the heart of etiquette is the desire to make guests feel comfortable.

And as a result of this royal wedding, Pejic believes we all may have become just a little more civilized.
