335 without power Friday night due to manhole explosion

NEWTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Three hundred and fifty-three NStar customers were without power Friday night in Newton due to a manhole explosion.

The manhole exploded at around 4:30 p.m. Friday in the area of 40 Needham St. There were reports of a possible underground explosion or a fire in the manhole.

Due to the incident, 335 NStar customers lost power in Newton Highlands and West Newton.
