CHARLTON, Mass. -- Three people were injured after the car they were in crashed on the Mass Pike in Charlton.
The single-car crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on the eastbound side of the highway and a medical helicopter was called for at least one person.

One person was entrapped in the car when emergency responders first arrived.
The whole highway was closed while the life flight landed. Police said there will be two eastbound lanes closed while the investigate what happened and remove the vehicle.

As of 5:40 p.m., the medical helicopter was still on the ground and the eastbound lanes remained closed.
