17-year-old held at gunpoint while robbers ransack house

BROCKTON, Mass. — A 17-year-old was held at gunpoint inside the teen’s own home while burglars ransacked the house Monday night, according to police.

Police said three men knocked on the door of the Elm Circle home and forced their way inside. One man took the victim to his parents’ bedroom and held him at gunpoint while others searched the home.

Police say the entire house had been rummaged through and said it wasn’t immediately clear if anything had been stolen.

The men were able to get away before police arrived, but they were described as black men wearing all black clothes and gloves.

Police say the three men did ask for someone by name at the door and believe it was not a random attack. Police say there is surveillance video from inside the home, but it has not been released yet.
