16-year-old killed, 15-year-old injured in Boston double shooting

BOSTON — Police are investigating a double shooting in South Boston Monday night that left a 16 year old dead and a 15 year old seriously injured.

The incident was reported around 11:30 p.m. in the area of O’Connor and O’Callaghan ways in the old Harvard development.

When investigators arrived at the scene of the shooting, they said they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

"So I heard the, 'No, no, no,'" witness Will Contento said. "Then immediately the bang, bang, bang. So it definitely was a shooting."

The identities of the victims have not been released, but police said the 15-year-old male was taken to Tufts Medical Center with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The 16-year-old died at Boston Medical Center.

Some witnesses were taken to the police department, but police are continuing to investigate.

“We are doing a canvas search right now,” Boston police Commissioner William Evans said. “We’re going door-to-door and a line search looking for information. We’re looking at cameras, but we need the public’s help on this.”

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police.
