• 1 person killed in Cambridge shooting, police searching for vehicle


    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Police in Cambridge are searching for a vehicle seen fleeing after a person was shot near Tremont and Hampshire streets.

    The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m., and according to police a male in his 20s was killed. NOTE: Police initially reported the injuries were non-fatal.

    Police told Boston 25 News a dark sedan was seen seeing the area, but it's unclear if that is a suspect vehicle.

    Hampshire and Tremont streets were closed for several hours Thursday night as police searched the area around the shooting for evidence and interviewed witnessed.

    According to police, there is a strong indication the victim and the suspect knew each other.
