1 injured after car crashes into Beverly CVS

BEVERLY, Mass. — Police in Beverly say one person was injured after a car crashed into a CVS.

The crash happened on Dodge Street just after 5 p.m. Monday.

The 87-year-old driver his foot fell asleep, causing him to accidentally press down on the gas instead of the break.

“They got confused, I feel badly for them because they didn't mean to do it’s was an accident,” June Codman, a customer at the CVS, said.

That driver crashed into the side of the building, and a woman shopping in the cosmetic section inside was injured.

Earlier on Monday, around 9:45 a.m., a similar incident at a Dunkin' Donuts less than one mile away.

Police there say a 45-year-old woman mistakenly crashed through the front wall of the Enon Street of the building.

No one was injured at Dunkin' Donuts, but several customers did need to jump out of the way.

Neither driver has been charged.
