1 dead, 2 injured in overnight shooting in Lynn

LYNN, Mass. — Two people are injured and one person is dead following a shooting in Lynn early Saturday morning.

Lynn Police were responding to complaints of loud music coming from a party at around 2 a.m. when they heard shots being fired around the corner.

At the scene of the shooting, police found a deceased man and two other victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

The Essex County District Attorney has identified the deceased victim as 25-year-old Romel Danis, of Lynn.

A nearby resident, Jim Bell, says he saw the body laying in the street at 2 a.m. when he took his dog out for a walk. He walked into the crime scene, which sounded like an ambush.

"They gotta get these guns off the street, it's these kids [who] are just carrying guns," said Bell. "It's just crazy."

The two other victims were transported to local hospitals, one of them with potentially life-threatening injuries.

At this time, it is unclear whether the victims were at the party or not.

Police have made no arrests at this point but believe there is no threat to the public at this time.

The search for suspects continues as police gather more evidence.
