The Flash Flood Watch continues for * Portions of Maine and New Hampshire, including the following areas, in Maine, Central Somerset, Northern Franklin, Northern Oxford, Southern Franklin, Southern Oxford, and Southern Somerset. In New Hampshire, Belknap, Cheshire, Merrimack, Northern Carroll, Northern Coos, Northern Grafton, Southern Carroll, Southern Coos, Southern Grafton, Sullivan, and Western And Central Hillsborough. * From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through Tuesday morning * Showers and thunderstorms producing excessive rainfall...on the order of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts in a short period of time...will have the potential to produce localized flash flooding. * Very heavy rainfall in a short period of time can quickly flood roads...and can cause washouts making them impassable. In addition...smaller streams may leave their banks and cause flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. && $$
