Tom Brady recalls dog bite at Practice during Super Bowl news conference

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The week before the Super Bowl is full of surprises for fans of the teams participating.

That was definitely the case Wednesday when New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady shared a story that had passed under the radar about how he had been bitten by a dog while practicing several years ago.

The focus around Brady recently had been about an injury to his throwing hand before the AFC Championship game, but as Brady tells it what happened during a meet and greet with a military group would have raised many more concerns.

“You know some guys were kind of excited to see us walk out so I kind of got was close to all the guys and didn't realize there was dogs,” the quarterback said.

The quarterback raised his hands up to welcome the troops, but what happened next was unexpected.

“Right when I raised my arm up... the dog jumped up and I guess was going for my neck. and the guy grabbed the dog back down and the dog got my thigh,” he said.

The Patriots managed to keep the drama quiet, and it’s still unclear exactly when the incident happened, but fans are just happy the future Hall of Fame player is OK.

“They kept it quiet. Hoping he had his rabies shots,” one fan said.
