Special commission discusses Boston's Olympic campaign

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A special commission was expected to discuss the possibility of Boston hosting the 2024 Summer Olympic games at the State House Tuesday.

Some of the topics expected to be discussed include security, safety, and the tourism impact of bringing the games to Boston.

One of the people testifying before the commission Tuesday was former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis.

Davis said Boston is better suited than any other city for the Olympics. He adds that the city has been able to exercise plans that would be needed to execute Olympic events.

The meeting comes amid growing security concerns in Sochi.  Russian security officials are hunting down three potential female suicide bombers, one of whom is believed to be in Sochi, where the Winter Olympics will begin next month.
