Roger Goodell 'bothered' by Robert Kraft's comments and Matt Patricia's shirt

FOXBORO — It appears the Patriots post-Super Bowl celebrations have gotten under the skin of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.  That's just the icing on the cake for Patriots fans, who relished their opportunity to shower Goodell with boo's during the trophy ceremony.

According to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, Roger Goodell was very upset to see his face sporting a clown nose on a Barstool Sports t-shirt worn by Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia.  He wore the shirt when the team team landed at Logan Airport following their Super Bowl win.

From La Canfora:

“The T-shirt really bothered him,” according to one ownership source who had been in contact with big wigs at the league office. “The fact that [Robert] Kraft didn’t stop him from wearing that ticked some people off"

The report also says NFL executives were "seething" at owner Robert Kraft for his postgame speech when he insinuated this Super Bowl was the "sweetest" because of everything the organization had gone through over the last two years.

One other interesting note, Robert Kraft still wants league counsel Jeff Pash out, whom he feels was a big part of the leagues mishandling of Deflategate.

“Robert still wants Pash out,” an ownership source said to La Canfora. “The only way there will ever be a full reconnect between the Patriots and Goodell is if Pash was no longer there”
