Rask to start Tuesday against Predators

Boston — Tuukka Rask will be between the pipes Tuesday night when the Bruins take on the Nashville Predators. Rask missed Saturday's must-win game against the Islanders with what was deemed a lower-body injury.

Rask has had an up and down season, sporting a 33-20-4 record and a 2.38 goals against average, but that didn't stop Bruce Cassidy from putting the brakes on the talk of a goalie controversy Monday.

"He’s our number one goalie and we’re not skirting our way around that issue," said Cassidy. "He’s our number one and his health is very important. When he’s physically ready to go and he tells me that, then we'll make our decision, but in the one practice, he feels good, and that’s a big positive for us."

For Rask, a solid start could calm the fears of Bruins fans who have watched him go 3-6 in the month of March, allowing a staggering 3.01 goals per game.

Simply put, Rask has to be better down the stretch for the Bruins to have a chance to make some noise in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
