Patriots officially acquire Mike Gillislee

FOXBORO — The Bills have chosen not to match New England's offer for restricted free agent Mike Gillislee, which means Gillislee has officially joined the Patriots.

Gillislee is entering his fourth NFL season, though he saw the most action in 2016 with Buffalo. He rushed for 577 yards and eight touchdowns while catching nine passes for 50 yards.

The Patriots surrender a fifth-round draft choice in exchange for Gillislee, which leaves them with six total picks entering this week's draft.

Gillislee played at the University of Florida before signing with the Dolphins before the 2014 season. He spent the last two years in Buffalo with the Bills.
