No surgery for David Price

Dedham — Red Sox pitcher David Price will not need surgery on his sore and inflammed elbow.  He will just need rest and medication.  This news first reported by Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.

Price met with Dr. James Andrews in Indianapolis on Friday and after consulting with Andrews about his sore elbow it was determined that the 31 year old Sox starter will not need surgery to repair what is ailing his elbow right now.

Price first felt soreness in his throwing elbow on Wednesday and after he took an MRI it was decided that Price would visit Dr James Andrews to get a second opinion.

Friday's news is being called a "best case scenario" by Red Sox manager John Farrell.
