SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The goalie for the Chicago Blackhawks made an assist of his own, helping a homeless man during a recent road trip in Arizona.
Scott Darling, who met the homeless man Wednesday in Scottsdale, Arizona, ended up paying for the man to stay in a hotel for a month.
"I just started talking to him, was interested in his life, seemed like a good guy and just needed a helping hand," Darling told the Chicago Tribune. "I had no idea how anyone even found out about that."
Turns out Kane Van Gate, a beer league goaltender, tweeted the story after learning about it from an Uber driver that also drove Darling.
