NESN announces plan to live stream Red Sox games

BOSTON — Red Sox fans who subscribe to NESN through certain cable providers will be able to watch live game on their phones, tablets and computers with a new app.

The roll-out will continue throughout the season but is available now to customers of Xfinity (Comcast), Cox Communications and Metrocast.

NESNgo, as the new service is being dubbed, will provide live streaming on a 24/7 basis of all NESN programming, including Red Sox pre- and post-game coverage, Red Sox games and NESN's sports news programs.

Bruins game broadcasts are not currently included in the NESNgo offering.

“Live in-market streaming will provide Red Sox fans who are on the go a means to watch games anytime, anywhere they go, on virtually any device,” said Sean McGrail, NESN President and CEO. “For years, NESN has wanted to extend live streaming access to our viewers, so we couldn’t be more excited to launch NESNgo this season. This is a significant milestone in NESN history.”

If fans already subscribe to one of the participating television providers, they will incur no additional cost to live stream the broadcasts when they use the NESNgo app or visit NESNgo.com.

Additional service providers are expected to provide live streaming through their own websites or via the "TV Everywhere" app in the coming months.
