A wild Game 7 ended with the Bruins scoring four third period goals to beat the Maple Leafs 7-4, a win that clinched the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series for Boston.

The tone for the back and forth affair was set in the first period. Toronto seized the lead when Patrick Marleau scored his third goal of the series just over two minutes in, a power-play goal to make it 1-0.

Boston answered a couple of minutes later when Jake DeBrusk buried a power play goal on a redirection feet away from the left post near Leafs netminder Frederik Andersen.

Marleau put the Leafs back on top at the 6:12 mark, beating Tuukka Rask for the second time on the night.

The electric action was far from done, as Danton Heinen and Patrice Bergeron both scored to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead through one period.

Boston was outplayed in the second period, as Toronto scored two unanswered goals.  Travis Dermott tied the game 3-3 2:07 into the period and Kasperi Kapanen gave the Leafs the lead on a shorthanded breakaway, scored with Rask sprawled on his belly trying to adjust to Kapanen's deke.

Trailing 4-3 entering the third period, the Bruins were able to take advantage of a four-on-four scenario and knot the score on a one-timer from Torey Krug.

Moments later, after another pair of matching penalties, the Bruins scored another four-on-four goal, this time Jake DeBrusk streaking down the right side and flipping the puck past Andersen to make it 5-4.

The B's added an insurance goal with 8:21 left as David Pastrnak gathered a pass from Patrice Bergeron in front of the net, deked and flipped a wrist shot into the twine.
