BOSTON — Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts won his second straight Gold Glove Tuesday night, beating the Angels' Kole Calhoun and the Yankees' Aaron Judge for the honor.
Betts, who broke into baseball as a second baseman, has been a stalwart fielder wherever he's played. He began his MLB career in centerfield and moved to right when Jackie Bradley, Jr. took over the role.
Betts had eight assists from the outfield this year, while committing just five errors in 153 games, with a fielding percentage of .982.
Dustin Pedroia, Mitch Moreland and Chris Sale, while finalists for Gold Gloves at their positions, did not win.
