BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Facial hair belonging to Boston Red Sox stars Shane Victorino and David Ortiz fetched more than $14,500 at auction.
Victorino and Ortiz received a shave at Gillette Headquarters just days after winning the World Series. Gillette donated $100,000 to the One Fund as the men shed their signature playoff beards.
The hair and the razors used to cut it off were then put up for sale on eBay to benefit the Movember Foundation.
According to the Boston Globe, Victorino's scruff sold for just over $3,750 on the website. Ortiz's beard sold for more than $10,800. Both Sox players combined for a total of 159 bids.
The Movember Foundation promotes awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.
