Joe Kelly struck with line drive in batting practice

Red Sox relief pitcher Joe Kelly was struck by a line drive today in batting practice.

Kelly was throwing to Brock Holt, who sent the ball back up the middle, striking Kelly on the right shin area. He immediately hit the ground in pain, before limping off the field at JetBlue Park complex.

Kelly underwent precautionary X-rays, which came back negative.

Red Sox skipper Alex Cora said Kelly appears to be fine.

"It seems like he's OK," Cora said. "Hopefully we get good news."
