Jabaal Sheard headed to Indianapolis

BOSTON — Patriots free agent defensive end Jabaal Sheard is on the move, signing a three-year $25.5 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts Friday.

Sheard tallied five sacks and 33 combined tackles in an inconsistent 2016 campaign following a 2015 season that saw Sheard rack up eight sacks as the Patriots best pass rusher.

After the Patriots acquired Kony Ealy from the Carolina Panthers, it was almost certain that the Patriots would not make Sheard an offer.
