NEEDHAM — The Needham Rockets boys basketball team is having a great season and they had a great night on Friday in Needham. Head Coach Paul Liner's rockets beat Brookline 63-53.
On this night, senior tri-captain Thomas Shaughnessy was honored before the game with a ceremonial ball for becoming the second player in Needham boys history to go over 1000 points.
Shaughnessy joins Chris Sonnie (Needham High Class of 1986) as the only other player to go over 1000 points in Needham history.
And to make this night more special, Sonnie and his wife were at the game and came up to congratulate Thomas.
Shaughnessy was honored by his AD Dan Lee and his head coach Paul Liner. And his parents, Carolyn and Sean Shaughnessy were also on hand.
