Lynn English holds on to beat Salem on High School Gameday

LYNN, Mass. — It was a big night at the Manning Bowl in Lynn as the (5-0) Bulldogs of Lynn English welcomed in the (5-1) witches of Salem for a game with lots at stake.

Lynn English Head Coach Chris Carroll and Salem Head Coach Matt Bouchard's teams battling for the Northeast Conference this year.

This game would have implications on the conference title and the playoffs and it came down to the wire.

Salem driving with under a minute to go trailing 13-6 when Sr Runningback Vincent Gaskins runs in for the score from the one yard line.  So with the score 13-12 at that point, Salem Head Coach Matt Bouchard decides to go for the two point conversion and the win.  Salem scores but it is called back because of a holding call.

So Salem tries for two points again and they are stopped.  Lynn English hangs on for the thrilling 13-12 win.
