Goodell presents Super Bowl MVP trophy to Brady

HOUSTON — In a highly anticipated ceremony, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell presented Patriots quarterback Tom Brady with the Super Bowl LI MVP trophy Monday morning.

With cameras clicking and millions of people around the country watching, Goodell and Brady posed for pictures holding the football-shaped trophy.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was also on hand to address the team's win Sunday night.

"The two gentlemen we have present have set new bars across the league," said Goodell. "Five Super Bowl championships and four MVPs for Tom Brady, cementing his legacy as not just a great Super Bowl performer, but maybe one of the greatest players of all-time.

"Coach Belichick with his success with five Super Bowls, cementing his legacy as perhaps the best coach of all-time.

"It's a great honor for us, for me personally, to have both of these guys here this morning, so Tom, come on up and get your trophy."

After posing for pictures, Brady answered questions, including if this is the next step toward improving his relationship with the Commissioner after a tumultuous two years of friction.

"It's an honor to be here and have the Commissioner present us with this trophy. It certainly means a lot and my kids will be happy to see that trophy," said Brady. "They always ask, 'Daddy, what about the trophy?' and I get to bring them one home so it's pretty cool."

Brady left the stage with the trophy in hand.

"I'm taking it home," he said.
