Franklin wins Super Eight Baseball Championship

BROCKTON — It's been a phenomenal tournament - and the stage was set tonight for one of the two teams playing - franklin had to win one game to claim a title - central catholic had to beat Franklin twice to win the championship....

The game opened up with a bang in the top of the first.... Franklin's Jake Macchi launches one to left field - up and out of here - that's a two-run shot and the panthers are up 2-zip...
---
Defensive play of the game right here - another shot to left from Maachi-  Sean Thompson lays out on the warning track - that's unreal... Fantastic play
---

Bottom of the fourth - here comes Central - Thompson doubles over third base - first of two runs they'd score in the inning to tie it...
---
Top of the ninth inning - tied at two - Franklin pulls off the suicide squeeze - Evan Wendell does it perfectly... Steven Lutazzi scores and it's 3-2 panthers...
---
And in the bottom of the ninth - Jake Noviello closes the door - getting a called third strike to clinch it - a state championship for the Franklin panthers - congrats to Zack Brown and the crew for getting it done without a single loss in the tournament.
