Bruins clinch playoff berth in OT loss to Blues

The Boston Bruins clinched a playoff berth by gaining one point in a 2-1 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues Wednesday night.

Ryan Donato scored the Bruins lone goal in the first period, his second goal in as many games with Boston.

St. Louis tied the game 1-1 with 10:24 to play in the third period when Jaden Schwartz slipped a shot past Anton Khudobin, playing between the pipes as Tuukka Rask rested.

Schwartz also netted the game-winner 30 seconds into the overtime sessions, scoring on a breakaway and ripping a wrist shot past Khudobin's blocker to make the final 2-1.

With the point earned tonight, the Bruins have 100 points on the season. They travel to Dallas next for a game against the Stars Friday night.
