Brady named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

FOXBORO — For the 28th time in his career, Tom Brady was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after a stellar performance against the Saints in a 46-20 win.

Brady threw for 447 yards and three touchdowns. All three TD passes were thrown in the first quarter, the first time Brady has thrown three in the first quarter of any game.

With this week's honor, Brady passes Peyton Manning for most career Player of the Week honors.

Brady looked ahead to Sunday's meeting with Houston, understanding the staff and players are very familiar with how the Patriots do business.

"They know us very well," said Brady. "They've been here. I'd say they have intimate knowledge of everything we do, how we teach and how we scout and all those things. I think it's just a really good program they have. They have really good players, practicing against them. We made our fair share of plays. They made their fair share of plays. I'm sure the way it will go this weekend."
