A new technology at the Peabody Fire Department is helping to revolutionize training. Flame Sim is a new training software that allows members of the department to practice firefighting tactics in house. Firefighters are set up throughout the firehouse with computers, gaming controllers, communication radios, even their masks, and wait for their assignment from the incident commander. The training allows firefighters to practice how they would act and communicate in a real fire emergency so they are best prepared when the bell sounds.
Not every department has this technology and Fire Chief Steven Pasdon credit a dedicated city council and mayor for helping to create this opportunity.
Thank you for all that you do to keep our community safe!
