Firehouse Friday: Norwell Fire Department

The South Shore boasts many beautiful beaches and small, close-knit communities.  When a constant challenge is ensuring that there is enough manpower to get the job done, a strong mutual aid system is important. Norwell Fire Department works hard every day for their community and for surrounding communities.  With small departments and a steady number of calls, it is reassuring to know that a neighboring department is ready to jump in to help at any time.

This summer especially has been a busy time for many fire departments across the state. The draught has left us with very dry land which means the smallest brush fire can escalate quickly. The Norwell Fire Department urges people to be mindful of the conditions. Also important during the draught is to conserve water; contact your local water department for tips on how you can conserve to help your local fire department as well.
