As the sun gets stronger firefighters are urging caution and vigilance when it comes to items left around that can reflect the sun and start a fire. Just a few weeks ago a fire started in Brookfield when sunshine hit a mirror left on the porch. Fire Warden Scott Bassett explains that even everyday items, like mirrors, magnifying glasses, and glass bottles, can spark small fire. These small fires can grow larger when exposed to larger fuels.
With summer around the corner and more sun and heat on the way, firefighters urge us to be aware of our surroundings. Thank you for all you do to keep us safe!
