Around Town

People Helping People

This past weekend, the FOX25 Around Town crew celebrated Earth Day by gathering together with a group of amazing people to help pick up Mines Fall Park and to support a bereavement camp for kids.

Every year since 2001 Comcast has provided employees the opportunity to give back to the communities they serve. Employees come together to make a difference. Saturday, the group helped clean up a part of the 325 acre Mines Fall Park by picking up garbage and clearing the pathways. They also were able to make a difference in the lives of children. For each person that participated, a donation was made to Comfort Zone Camp, a non-profit dedicated to providing therapeutic programs who all have something very difficult in common: loss. Many campers who benefit from the camp and some camp workers joined those supporting them in the park clean up.  The gratitude felt by the recipients of today’s act of kindness was tangible.
