Around Town

Around Town This Weekend: May 18-21

Did you know that today is National No Dirty Dishes Day?  The perfect excuse not to cook, and maybe get out there and dine around town while you plan your weekend, and there's a lot going on!

1. Glow in the Park 5k -- Saturday, May 20th -- 7pm

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is partnering with the Special Olympics for the third year to raise much needed funds and awareness. Runners and walkers of all ages and athletic abilities are invited to sport the best neon and glow gear and hit the road. The 3.1 mile run begins and ends at Barrett's Alehouse and loops through the North Attleboro Industrial Park.  Register in advance here, or at the event. Registration begins at 7pm and the race starts at 9pm.

2. Somerville Veterans' Memorial Parade -- Sunday, May 21st -- 1pm

While we celebrate National Armed Forces Day Saturday, we have the opportunity to do the same Sunday. Join the city of Somerville as they recognize and honor all those who serve our country at the Somerville Veterans' Memorial Parade. Many youth teams, community groups, and schools will be involved in this year's parade as they march from City Hall to north of Davis Square.  The festivities begin at 1pm sharp!

3. SpringFest 2017 at Keith Middle School, New Bedford -- Wednesday, May 24th -- 6:30pm

Keep the fun rolling into next week! Keith Middle School in New Bedford is hosting SpringFest 2017 Wednesday night.  Internet sensation and Vine star Jeffrey Miller will be performing, along with rising pop singers Elle Renee and Nicole Michelle.  Tickets are available online for $10 and at the door.

Whatever you do this weekend, make it a great one!
