Around Town

Around Town This Weekend: April 13 - 16

As we head into April vacation, there's plenty going on around town to keep those kids busy!

1. Concord Museum: Patriots' Day

Saturday, April 15th & Monday, April 17th

Celebrate Patriots' Day this weekend with activities at the Concord Museum.  Saturday the museum will display special treasures from 1755, show colonial demonstrations, even give guests the opportunities to see and talk to Captain David Brown's company of Minute Men on the front lawn.  Monday, the town celebrates with their annual parade, fun games at the Wright Tavern, and colonial crafts. What a fun way to commemorate the "shot heard round the world." For more information and a full list of events, visit their website here.

2. Boston Marathon

Monday, April 17th

Patriots' Day also brings another very special event in Massachusetts: the Boston Marathon.  As one of the most popular races in the country, nearly 30,000 people will run from Hopkinton to Boston on Monday. It's not just special for the runners, spectators play a huge role in making Marathon Monday one of Boston's biggest parties. Head out to cheer on the runners anywhere on the 26.2 mile course!

3. Charity Screening of Grey Lady at Legacy Place

Tuesday, April 18th at 6:45pm

It's always nice to extend your weekend!  Tuesday, the new movie Grey Lady will premiere at Legacy Place. Grey Lady is directed by Massachusetts native John Shea and stars Massachusetts native Jimmy Cummings.  Ticket sales from both the screening and the after-party next door at Kings benefit the charity Cummings and his brother started called Journey Forward. The non-profit aids those with paralysis through an intense exercise-based program.
