Zolak named color analyst for Patriots broadcasts

BOSTON (AP) - Former New England Patriots quarterback and Boston area sportscaster Scott Zolak has been named color analyst for team radio broadcasts.

Zolak, who previously served as sideline reporter for broadcasts, joins longtime play-by-play announcer Gil Santos in the booth. Zolak replaces another former Patriots player, Gino Cappelletti, who retired last month.

Mike Thomas, vice president of programming for flagship radio station WBZ-FM, says Zolak's "vast knowledge of football and his long relationship with the team make him the obvious choice for this position."

Zolak says takes "great pride and gratitude" in the job.

Zolak played eight of his nine NFL seasons with the Patriots and one year with the Miami Dolphins.
