Yarmouth PD gives 4-year-old battling cancer a visit to remember

YARMOUTH, Mass. — A 4-year-old boy who recently finished cancer treatment was given a visit he'll never forget while on vacation in Yarmouth earlier this month.

According to a letter written to the Yarmouth Police Department, 4-year-old Hayden got to meet the officers and even explore a police car before being heading to Pirate’s Cove mini golf.

Hayden’s grandfather explains in the letter what a battle the previous two years had been.

“It is a credit to you and your department that you would go out of your way to make a child's day brighter. Hayden has gone through a lot over the past 2 years and hasn't been able to enjoy many of the things kids his age are able to,” the letter said.

The Yarmouth Police Department posted the full letter on Facebook where it has been shared dozens of times.
