WWII plane found preserved in Sahara

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A World War II plane lost since June 1942 was discovered this week in the Sahara Desert by a Polish oil worker.

According to the Telegraph, the Kittyhawk P-40 was almost perfectly preserved in the sands of the Sahara.

There were indications that the pilot, an RAF airman, survived impact and tried to use his parachute for shelter before making an attempt at reaching civilization. The nearest town is 200 miles away. No human remains were found.
