Worcester teen was carrying $148,000 in cash, state police say

WORCESTER (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Worcester teen among three others arrested Sunday following a police pursuit in the city was carrying $148,000 in cash in two shopping bags, state police said.

Authorities said a speeding blue Subaru led state police on a chase at about 7:15 a.m. on Route 290 eastbound. The car then took off down Exit 15 and crashed into a business at the intersection of Shrewsbury and Prentice streets. That's when state police said the four people in the car ran from the scene.

According to state police, 18-year-old Jabriel Nabulsi, of Worcester, was carrying two shopping bags full of cash when he was handcuffed.  Nabulsi allegedly told police he stole the money from a parked car in Worcester. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Karla Ocasio, 17, of Worcester, was charged with disorderly conduct. A juvenile male was also arrested. The driver, 17-year-old Michael Tisdell, of Worcester, was charged with reckless driving and other driving offenses.

State police did not whether they were able to find the owner of the money.
