(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A 33-year-old Worcester man was arrested on Tuesday following a brief pursuit on the Massachusetts Turnpike.
According to Massachusetts State Police, Roberto Rivera refused to stop for police after a trooper attempted to stop him for erratic operation on the eastbound side, east of the Weston tolls. The pursuit began at approximately 12:35 p.m.
Rivera reportedly struck a van a short time after the pursuit began. The van's driver, a 41-year-old Spencer man, was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital with minor injuries. Rivera was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for minor facial lacerations caused by air bag deployment.
The vehicle Rivera was driving was reported stolen earlier this month.
Rivera will face charges connected to the stolen vehicle and failure to stop for police.
